How do we get rid of the old concrete to replace the fence??

    Hi. If you don't want to off-set the new fence, you'll need to dig up the old concrete. It's a job, but look on the bright side -- the hole will be perfect for the new post and concrete. Happy DIY'ing!

    If the fence/posts are still there, take down all the fencing but leave the posts which are set in concrete. Then, dig around the concrete to loosen the soil (or wet the soil, if it's dry and rock hard), and using the posts as handles, wiggle the concrete base back and forth. This will make the posts a lot easier to remove. I was able to completely remove the concrete that steel chain link fence posts were set in by doing this.

    You will need to dig them out if you want the new posts to go in the exact same spots.
