There are some questions I need answered before I can give you any real advice. How much higher do you want the ceiling to be, are you wanting something like a vaulted ceiling, what type of ceiling do you want (drywall, paneling, tongue and groove,etc.).
Manufactured homes are built entirely different from a stick built home. The truss and rafter system you have in your MH is what you are stuck with, unless you plan on spending a great deal of money to have it re-done you are locked into what is currently there.
Not something that can be easily done. You are dealing with changing the structural integrity of the of the home. Not something that should be attempted.
Diana, If the MH is an older model and in that bad of shape, have you looked into buying a used newer unit. you could probably find one for the amount of money spent on your proposed repairs and remodeling.
