What color should I paint this table for the family room?
I want to paint this table for my family room. The family room is grey, white black and touches of yellow.
This is the table, although it’s a temporary table it needs to match.

paint it yellow to make it stand out
With your color palette in-mind I would paint the top white, the balance of the table.black, dusty black or dark gray. If a pop of color appeals to you (I usually prefer pops of color, hence my bright turquoise front door), maybe paint the base bright red or turquoise or even lime green. Bright white table tops always appeal to me, I think it keeps everything fresh and bright.
I love that color combo. Why not use all three? Take inspiration from the harlequin pattern of your mirror and the patchwork on that blanket throw. You may like the result so much it won't be temporary!
How about grey with a white decorative stencil?
Still voting for the yellow. Everyone is picking grey but the whole room is grey. The chair is grey. Your throw is yellow white and grey. Be adventurous. Paint it yellow. You can always change the color. This will be the added color touch in your room. The red or turquoise or bright green would not be pleasant with your current color scheme. Pick up the same yellow as your throw. I think you will love it.
I, too, have a lot of gray and found that while gray is wonderful, you can have too much of a good thing. I like the idea of a yellow table, but my vote would be a white distressed table. Here's why: With a white table, it's easy to decorate seasonally. For Christmas, change out your throw for a red one. Put red candles (or candies) on the table along with Christmas books or magazines and you have a different look. For fall, the same: warm throw, different pillows, candles, etc. Spring: Bright colors or pastels. Each season you can change things up for next to nothing with the white table the backdrop for each look.
pop of yellow would be fun!
Personally, I think pops of color are the way to go. One of my faves is Barn Red or our newest colors Aubergine. Either would really be a nice statement piece. I am attaching a couple of pix of pieces that were done in those two colors so you can see if you think they might work for you. These are Dixie Belle Painted pieces. - Teri
