How do I redo this ceiling fan with my red maple cabinets?
Here is a picture of the first step of redoing a really old ceiling fan. I removed two of the country glass shades and replaced with black metal and Edison bulbs. Love this look so I will do the rest of them. Next is to paint the shiny gold metal dark bronze to match fixtures. My dilemma is: I have beautiful red maple handmade cabinets in my kitchen (next to this dining nook). The trim around the windows and doors is white, but I don't want to change the cabinets. This country oak color has to go. Should I paint the fan blades white, or try to get close to red maple, or black, or something else? Suggestions? (picture of cabinets is from stock for color only, mine have raised panels and stuff, and dark almost black pulls)

I would go with white. With your black light covers it will make a good contrast.
I think an off white or cream would look good on this fan. If you want to be daring, you can get a red stain and make the blades just a little lighter than your cabinet.
I believe that new replacement fan blades in different colours of wood can be purchased. Maybe other Hometalkers who have gone this route will see your question and could share what their experience has been.
Paint the hardware with stainless steel spray paint, Flip the blades and paint them stainless steel trimmed in flat black. Or reverse the colors. Trial and error till you see which you prefer. The Idea is to match your stainless steel appliances.
I would go with a stainless steel spray paint to match the appliances and give it a really cool look
I would buy a new one. Sorry but Loes and Home Depot have such nice fans that would go with this beautiful kitchen. They are really affordable. Even to replace globes are expensive. You may find a new one is much more energy efficient and cheaper then redoing the one you have. That's what we did, and we do not regret our choice.
I would actually go black for all metallic surfaces, and blades in the red maple. It appears you have black on your backsplash; Black cabinet pulls would tie it all in. Good luck!
This is the finished product! Painted all hardware actual black instead of bronze and the blades are tuscan red I think Apple Barrel craft paint. So now how do you think the wall woul look in a nice light gray instead of that lovely mint green color?
