Buy a cheap steam mop & ditch the chemicals!
Hi Dokey,. Try washing your floor with a product that was made for wood, you can us it on laminate floors. It's Murphy's Oil Soap, find it in the cleaning isle of your supermarket. Follow and read all the directions on the back. Aloha!
I only use vinegar and water.
Dokey. Hi the directions that came with your floor product should tell you what and how to clean their product. It's been my experience that most laminate floors say DON'T use WATER. STEAM. WAX on Laminate Flooring. Unless your cleaning up Muddy or Sticky Substance these products are Sprayed on and DRY MOPPED with a Microfiber Mop or Cloth.
I ruined a expensive floor with a steamer.
I suggest you call or email the mfg and ask them what to use. Hope that helps.
Hello there, We have had laminate floors for a few years now and I only use vinegar and water. On occasion when it was called for a drop or two of dish soap, dawn, The key to keeping the floors a long time is to minimize the liquid on it. Water will ruin them fast. Best of luck to you.
Yes, they shouldn’t be getting wet, as they will delaminate and the warranty will be void. At this point in time you may have a build-up of cleaning chemicals and their film allows the footprints to be seen. Call the manufacturer & ask them what to strip the floor with that won’t ruin the laminate.
If it’s walk-off from another room, like the garage, then it’s time to clean the garage floor & put in more walk off mats.
I read somewhere on this site, they used tea water on the timber floor.
I like Method wood cleaner. It removes all of the gross smudges and leaves it clean. Plus it smells amazing.
I have the same issues, streaky floor when using a swiffer wet jet, then having to go over with a dry cloth, lots of work, there has to be a easier way, I have tried all the above except the steam
