How do I get rid of vinca - ground cover?

Try to dig it out. We had this problem, and we dug it out where we didn't want it and replanted it in another place that looked kind of vacant. It took real well. Hope this will work for you. It is not an easy thing to do, but it can be done.

Oh my this stuff starts out as lovely and tends to take over. I have had the same problem.

You have 2 options.

Option #1...garden centers sell a spray that is for vines, poison ivy, English ivy. It works on this. You have to follow the directions on the back of you have pets and wear gloves.

When you see it dying off pull it out. I had to spray to host area (wear you planted it, twice, to kill it)

Option #2 requires more work but is chemical free. Start with the host and dig it up. Be sure you get all the root, it sends off runners and leaving roots is an invitation to grow. Now follow the vine and pull it up. Again, as you pull you will see the roots, get it all. It works best in a damp yard. Ot will take some work and time, lots of it, depending on the growth, and you may have to stay on top of it to keep it from spreading next year.

A good pair of gloves either way you go is a good investment.

Instead of roundup I use DR Earth products. it may take multiple applications but it is safe for kids and pets.
