How to make concrete pavers and cast stone steps?
Hi there
There are 2 things I'd like to make out of cement
- Textured garden pavers
- Cast Stone Steps - that look like natural stone
Any tips on how to make moulds for these?

Well, you can go:
A. Old school, as how I learned: texture the edges with wet newspaper inside a mould made of 2Ă—4s slightly oversized. Remove the newspaper when set.
Or
B. New school: Just find a concrete mould you like on Amazon.com or other that takes all the work [and fun] out of making your own moulds.
Unless you are into learning ancient history or brickmaking to make this into a career, I would recommend B.
I've seen a mold at Home Depot and Lowe's that looks like angular stone. I would recommend makes a couple of batches different colors so that it appears more natural looking.
Please post your project. I would be interested to see how it turns out.
We just did this project this spring using a walkmaker concrete mold! it took a while but was not difficult. I made a how-to and video tutorial here -- https://www.charlestoncrafted.com/2018/02/12/make-quikrete-walkmaker-patio/
