I use Murphy's Oil Soap. For really grimy cabinets TSP, trisodium phosphate.
Hi Mom,
I'd be careful about using coconut oil to clean wood. The reason is because it's a liquid at 76 degrees and higher but a solid when it's lower. The temperature in your home likely varies so if you rub in a solid, it could change to liquid if it gets 76 degrees or higher. That back & forth changing could make it get sticky over time. I would suggest Murphy's Oil Soap. If you want to make your own, you can use water, vinegar and olive oil (the amounts are in the link below). Just be careful with that too. I had an experience with a similar mixture that started to take the color off my walnut dresser. Just watch what is happening to your wood, while your working. Wishing you the best! -Linda

Thank you. Very helpful.
I didn't know all this
I use a Heavy Duty Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (gets the really gross stuff off!) followed by a wiping with Windex to get the residue from the Mr. Clean eraser off. Works like a charm.
I use baking soda and peroxide to make a paste then scrub using a child's toothbrush.
I also use OrangeGlo because it leaves a nice sheen, cleans the wood as well as nourishes, and leaves a pleasant scent in the kitchen.
Dollar general sells a product called awesome, and I use it for everything. Most amazing grease cutter on the market and its cheap. Works great on just about everything I’ve tried. Even works for outdoor furniture, siding and fences.
I'll have to get some of this. Thank you.
