Hydrogen peroxide works really well on blood stains. It should bubble up when you first put it on. Let it bubble. When it is done rinse it out. You may have to do it again. When the hydrogen peroxide doesn't bubble any more, you're done. Go ahead and wash it. Like any stain, don't dry it until you are happy with the results. The dryer will set the stain. Good luck.
Here's some good instructions that will help you.

I would start with a cold water soak so the blood stain will not set. After the soak, wash in cold water as usual. DO NOT dry the clothing with the blood stain, if still lightly there and if your clothing can tolerate it, use a weak bleach solution. If not, then try oxyclean.
Soak in cold salt water. Check it in about 30 minutes and if it is not completely gone leave it in the soak for another 10-15 minutes and it will be gone. Works on both dried and fresh blood every time. Best wishes.
Lestoil will take most blood stains out of anything if you pour it on the spot and rub it under cool water. Once the blood comes out, pour a little more on the spot and launder as usual. Lestoil works on almost all stains. You can get it at the hardware store usually.
Try cold water and salt. Wet the stain, rub in the salt, let sit then rinse.
We use Dawn Platinum, and hydrogen peroxide. Spray or pour on
the peroxide, scrub in the Dawn with a toothbrush, and use only cold water. Let stand, rinse, repeat, if necessary. I've also heard that milk takes out blood stains, but have not tried that. And like others' recommendations, do not put garment in the dryer until all is completely resolved and out, or you'll end up with a permanent mark.
I have and do use tide free n clear. Just put on spot needed let sit, launder as usual works beautifully
Peroxide works for me. Spray or pour it on the area let it bubble up then wash. It should come out. If not repeat the process BEFORE drying the item...
I find oxy clean powder really helps! Mix it into a paste with water and spread it onto the spot, let it sit for 20/30 minutes then wash. Wash in COLD water though not hot
