easy install - use a good underlayment foam as instructed by manufacturer of laminate
Hopefully they didn't glue down your pad. If so you got some scraping to do.
I did it a couple of years ago..I am 63 . The hardest part is undercutting around doors and closets so that the laminate will fit under it. Get an oscillating saw, it will make things a lot easier and they are not expensive. Use a high quality underlayment as it will make all the difference. The manufacturer will recommend what to use with their product but if you can afford it I would go with cork . You will have to make rip cuts. Don't bother with a table saw unless you already own one. A jigsaw with laser will work fine. Clamps..you will need clamps to hold the laminate while making the rip cuts. Cross cuts are easy..and anything not perfect is going to be hidden with quarter rounds that you will use to finish around the baseboards. Get a hand planing tool as well for about $8. Sometimes you have to cut the board and just glue it into place. There are some areas in the house, like under the door frames where you can't do the angle click lock. I had to find a lot on the internet, there wasn't one place for all of it and most manufacturers won't give you details on how to install around door frames. Took me three weeks to complete. Take your time. People will say this is an easy project. It's not that easy. Can be done but it's not easy. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/floors-ceilings/diy-laminate-flooring-installation-6891390
My Laminate Flooring Installation
We have installed laminate flooring in a couple of rooms mostly by ourselves. One super small project we totally did by ourselves, the other we did about 3/4 of it, leaving the specialty cuts to the carpenter with the specialty saws. HERE IS a post I wrote with the steps it took and how to.
