How do I fix squeeky chairs?
I have some old dining room chairs that are very squeeky. Some are wobbly. What's the easiest way to fix them?

There is a glue product called chair doctor available a few places that worked well for us. Injectable syringe type glue application. Combine it with a strap clamp system if you really want to squeeze things tight.

I just use plain ole Carpenters glue to reglue the joints, and tap the edges of the chair with a rubber malt or use belts to pull the pieces back together until dry. I have also used twine and a paint stick to tighten the pieces back together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3JGqULJLKg
Remove the bolts and screws completely before adding any lubricant. If the chair still squeaks after adding lubricant and tightening all bolts and screws, take them all out, and lubricate them with a light machine oil before putting them back in. Have a friend sit in the chair as you apply oil.
My advice is; if you really don’t have knowledge as to what you are doing; ( especially if the legs or joints are getting loose); I would do one of 2 things:
-get a maintenance person to fix it ( which may cost you a bit)
OR; personally; I would buy “ new” chairs”.
There are many stores that have good quality chairs that are on-sale for a great price.
Bottom line is; i personally would not risk having my family, or guests possibly sitting on this chair which is “ wobbly” & not safe.
( Especially; God forbid, an older person or
a 250 lb person sat down & fell). My conscience would not only bother me; but I would be nervous each time someone sat in the chair. Everything in life had an expiration date. This may be the time! Up to you!
Good Luck,,,👍🏻
