I think a planter would be awesome and so easy to do too. If it's not in too bad shape you could paint it any color you want. Sounds like a fun project!
Hi there. Cindy here. Several months ago I saw a post where someone made garden art using tin cans, it was a scarecrow. As soon as I read your question, I thought of the scarecrow. Your chimney could be used as the body for it. You could use different tin cans for the legs and arms, and a coffee can could be the head. Spray the whole thing silver and that does it.
