How can I resurface plastic laminate cubicles?
I've taken 4 plastic laminate cubicles and I'm turning them into a rolling, storage utility cart for my kitchen. I plan to attach them together, add casters on the bottom, add cutting board to the top with a towel bar. I just don't know how to change the look of the cubicles now that they are older and desperate need of make over just as badly as I need a new utility cart! I would welcome any ideas you guys have! Please
Thank you,
Brenda

Go to the Dollar Tree and get contact paper. It is plastic paper, cones in all kinds of colors and patterns. You just peel and stick. I covered an old file cabinet for my office. Works great.
I agree with Barbara's answer. The newer contact paper is much easier to apply these days and comes in a wide variety of designs and some of the more expensive, wider rolls are textured for a great look. I covered a piece of pressed wood in marble contact paper to use as a desktop and it looks great and is easy to clean.
I love Contact paper and second that! You can even get leopard print for the cubbies and paint the handles pink. (Walmart has bunches of Applecrate craft paints for $1, and shiny fingernail polish for $1, too). Buy bigger wheels rather than smaller. You can buy them individually and in sets of four. You need at least one that locks. Bigger wheels are better because four cubbies and a butcher block on top might be top heavy. If you could build a box frame to hold each cubbie, it would be more sturdy. Otherwise, you can use Gorilla Glue to glue all the cubbies together. The same glue could glue a chopping block, Brenda, but I recommend a lightweight one, possibly even plastic. Plan how you will clean the chopping block. You have a good idea for a mini-island. Keep thinking about other improvements, like adding a handle. Best wishes, Brenda! ☺️
