Easy? Nope! That is a lot of stones to make. Do you have a place to stack and store them until you are ready to lay them out? Are you producing them yourself? Here is how to install them once you have gathered enough for your project.

It’s like installing pavers, you have to spend a lot of time compacting the soil, putting in sand, Visqueen (sp?) and edging before one can even start laying the stones.
There’s a lot of videos on YouTube physically showing this process.
If the hand-made stones are not fired clay, they may not be frost-proof, which means in the winter, the water inside their pores will expand and crack the stones.
If you click on "explore projects" then "build" then "outdoor structures" then "decks" you will find many flagstone type floors, and some hand made stone ones too. You can make them or use concrete base and "paint" faux ones that look real. We have made home made stones with concrete and forms. It is a lot of work, but not difficult to do, just tedious and laboring. It took us several weekends to get the number we needed with only buying one form that had about 10 "stones" in it. We also varied the color of the slightly on each batch to make it look more real. Hope this helps,
