How to repair and get rid of holes in my yard?
I have had small tunnels in my yard recently. We put down grub killer and it seemed to get better. Now, I have holes and tunnels much bigger. Them hole is about 1 1/2 inch wide and this time there are mounds around the opening. I thought we had mole crickets, but this looks too big for that. How can I get rid of them. BTW, we live in New York of that makes a difference.

Hi Janice, I have been having the same issue here in AZ! People have given different advice and I've tried it all such as: pour clorox in the holes, pour ammonia in the holes, coffee grounds, egg shells, tea tree oil soaked cotton balls, etc. So far nothing has worked. The next thing I'm going to try are some of those sticky pads used to trap crawling bugs/insects as people are now saying I must have lizards! If you get a solution, please post for all of us having the same problem!
Hi Janice,
It looks more like a mole hole but a little small. Here's some information about getting rid of moles. See if that helps. Good luck! -Linda

Looks like a armadillo hole. They use there snout to find grub in the yard. We get hundreds of holes every year. Only during the spring in my yard. They move on after a few weeks and we fill them back in and wait until next year. I'm sure they do this year round but we live in the woods basically so they have plenty of space to move around.
I know it would cost but you may want to have an exterminator out. You could just ask for an estimate, and that way you could find out what's causing them. Good luck.
Since you are in NY, you can rule out armadillos. Look like mole holes to me.
