Patio/ back deck?
I have a 🐱 yard /🐕 run. What I would like to do is make part of it a back deck . It is quite large so taking a 10 × 10 area is no problem. Not quite sure how to start. Ideas must be on a budget.

I don’t know about building a deck - I have concrete. My son built me a pergola over it which I grow wisteria on (native, not Asian). Cost was about $250 - $300. The wisteria keeps it shaded and cooler for those hot summer days. (He also just added speakers and little lights. It’s wonderful! He’s awfully good to me 😊)
Building a deck isn't cheap even if you do it yourself. My suggestion would be to build a freestanding deck. Anything that joins or is attached to a structure requires a permit. See if this helps.

Thank you Naomie! I’ve been blessed with 3 amazing boys!
We did our patio with sweat. We went on the swaps and looked for free rocks/stones and used our muscles to build it the way we wanted it. It is quite eclectic, but we love it!
