Remove all hardware, clean, sand, paint with chalk paint, put on finish coat.
Painting furniture is super fun and very addictive! LOL. We have a TON of live videos showing how to paint furniture on our Facebook page as well as our Facebook groups. I would recommend you checking us out, we are always doing giveaways so you just might win some while you are learning.
The one thing I would say, is don't let it overwhelm you. It is much easier than you think. Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint was made for beginners. Self leveling, no priming, no waxing, no sanding. First step is making sure your piece is clean of grime, tannins, dirt etc...we have an awesome product called White Lightning that you could use. Then start painting. Just use a damp brush and thin coats. Don't worry about full coverage, the paint will dry in about 10 minutes and you can add a second coat. After dry, you can give a quick buff and the paint is silky smooth. After 30 days, it will be completely cured. You can always add a top coat if you like but it is not necessary with Dixie Belle.
Before starting using chalk paint, just do alittle homework. Not all chalk paints are created equal.
