Bamboo is a grass & has similar nutrient requirements. I have mine in large planters. I feed them in the early spring. I use slow release lawn food. I sprinkle about a handful over a 3ftx3ft area. Next, make sure you're watering enough. I watch the leaves for signs of thirst. The leaves will roll up length-wise (like a cigarette) when they need water. In the summer, I water every day. When it cools, I water every other day. In the winter a couple of times a month is sufficient. Also remember, bamboo spreads if not contained. Enjoy your bamboo! :-)
if this is a LUCKY bamboo ... https://www.joyusgarden.com/lucky-bamboo-care-tips/ --- there are lots of 'kinds' of bamboo... some are very invasive in the landscape; others may be confused with a PALM variety ... if this is a container plant you purchased from a nursery or big box store it could well be a variety of palm ..
Marsha,. Bamboo is the lucky plant, it should be 3s. 3 stalks X's 3 equals 12. You can have 12 stalks. Water the plants when the soil is dry. If it's in water, then fill up just pass the roots. Loha!
