How do I keep rabbits from eating my tulip plants?

I live in the country and love tulips. The rabbits love my tulips more and eat them before they have a chance to grow. What can I put on or around the places that I plant the bulbs so they have a chance?

Dried blood which you can purchase at most nursery/stores. That will for sure keep rabbits away.
