How can I do something with this window
We live in a manufactured home. The back door is metal with 6 small windows. It is on the west side and just bakes in the afternoons. Currently it has a sheet of dark plastic taped over it then an ugly plastic venitian blind. I would like to get ride of the plastic and blinds. Need something low profile as the bottom of the door is a doggie door and has a slide in panel for security. Please give me some ideas.

The metal door will always get hot. Try some translucent contact paper on the glass. Will let light in and block a little sun. Consider an awning over the door on the outside.
Have you tried a magnetic curtain rod with a short blackout curtain on it? I agree with William that a metal door will always get hot, especially in a West facing setting. They are inexpensive and you can get them in a size to fit any size metal door and window configuration. The idea of an awning is a good one, but that would mean drilling into the metal/wood siding on the outside. Best wishes.
We do have a covered back porch which helps some. I will look into the above suggestions, thank you
There are curtain rods for French doors. That may work for you. They're pretty strong.
