A cheap plastic ball works great. Put a layer of clingfilm around the ball then start layering your leaves and mod podge. Once dry it will slide off the ball. If it gets stuck, put something small like a tip of a small screwdriver into the valve on the ball and let the air out. The ball can be pumped back up. You can use a balloon but they can pop alot with leaves.
