Mayo Clinic has some tips: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/impetigo/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20352358
Impetigo
A highly contagious bacterial skin infection that affects infants and children.
Very common (More than 3 million cases per year in US)
Transmitted through direct contact
Diagnosis rarely requires lab test or imaging
Treatment from medical professional advised
Can last several days or weeks
It is a bacterial skin infection caused by either of the two bacteria- Streptococcus or Staphylococcus and is usually observed in children between the age of 2 to 5 years. It causes red sores that can burst, ooze fluid and develop a yellow brown crust on any part of the body. Different formulations of antibiotics are used for the treatment of impetigo.
NOTE: With something of this nature, it is best to take your child to the doctor.
Redness and Blisters - I had it years ago and that is what was found on my face.
Put raw unfiltered honey on it, must be raw and unfiltered. This stuff is highly contagious, so you'll need to keep the tub sanitized and use separate towels and washcloths that you wash immediately in hot water after use. You may find the honey knocks it out before your Dr's appt.
It is impetigo and this is a DIY site, not a medical site. Go to Symptom Checker on the web or your doctor's office.
