Is the attic insulated? What type of flooring does the attic have? What were you planning on doing for heating & cooling? Is the attic open to a stair case? or is there an entrance to attic through a ceiling opening?... Is the opening large enough to put furniture through? The BIG thing for a office / library is what about the problem with humidity ! I bought a mobile home .. placed it in the yard .. (but I live in the country and living in the city would not do)

Hi Wendi, it's going to depend very much on what your attic space looks like but perhaps some of these ideas will inspire you - https://www.alvastonloftconversions.co.uk/loft-conversion-ideas-attic-remodeling-inspiration/ and this article gives some advise on what to consider - https://www.property24.com/articles/doing-a-lofty-conversion/10115
Hi there, Check with your Local Authority to see if you will need Planning Permission and Building Regulations. Draw up or get drawn up a suitable plan by an architect etc. that conforms with regulations. Either employ a Builder to carry out the work for you after asking 2 or 3 to give you a price for the complete job, or do it yourself with or without help from other tradesmen.
If you are planning to convert a former attic (former space not considered living space) into a finished room, or genuine living space, one modification you will have to ensure is having a legal-sized exit built in to the plans.
Your home insurance premiums will probably go up to reflect the increase in sq ft of finished living space. However, without a exit built to code, your claim will most likely be denied if you ever were to file one in the event of a fire.
Hi Wendi, what a wonderful space to use! Hope this helps you out,
