How to get rid of Florida Pulsey weed?
What is the most effective way to get rid of the very resistant invasive weed called Florida Pulsey? I have tried numerous products/methods over the past 3 years. A natural, ecologically safe effective product If one exists is preferred but I will use anything effective.

Hi Gail,
It looks like this is a type of invasive plant that might need chemical weed control. :( There are some suggestions in this article about how to control/remove it if it's a small patch and is caught early. There is also a like to the local Cooperative Extension, which knows about local plants and might be able to help find a different solution for you. I looked at several articles and most suggest chemical control - especially for larger patches. You might try plain vinegar or boiling water to kill them, but if they are in your lawn, the boiling water will kill the lawn too. Just be careful with any "recipes" that include salt. Salt will kill the soil below making it difficult to grow anything. I wish I had better news, but check with the Cooperative Extension in your county. Wishing you the best.

I looked this up and there is an article in the Naples Daily News Archives on Pulsey Weed eradication. (The Naples reference is the Naples Florida newspaper). Or....type in Pulsey Weed on Google and you should see a link...sorry can’t send it to you. I liked the article because it addressed eradication of this weed in some typical lawn grasses of FL just in case you live there.
Sometimes we just have to be aggressive on some of these weeds! My husband says he always thinks of that song with "Jaws!" Here are some places to look as well as the others above:
