This vine grows close to the ground and has grass spring up through the flowers. Following it down through the flowers would be an impossible task. It takes water away from the flowers and
kills them. It is like Mistletoe wrapping around the flowers and
killing them. I can spray it because that would kill the flowers too.
Our garden was so pretty now it is ugly. Do I have to dig it all up
Mow it up as close as possible to the ground. Over time the better type of grass will overgrow the choke weed and choke it off. Also sow seeds of a lawn grass type. Mow regularly. Do not use chemicals over time nature will do its trick.

This is like a vine and I see litte grass clumps coming up through the marigolds. It would be impossible to find it's root and pull it up. It is
a vine that wraps it'self around the flowers. I cannot keep it out.
This is a raised garden in front of the Church there is no way I can
mow it down, without mowing the flowers too.
