You will need a leather dye to do this. This may be a very messy job depending on how large your sofa is and the colour your wish to change it too. Check on -line with various do it your self dye companies (Rit comes to mind) to find out what's required. It may turn out to be a professional job.
Hi. You can dye a light leather to make it darker. Lightening doesn't work. Dyes can be bought on-line. Happy DIY'ing!
You can get a suede and leather dye kit from Amazon.

I’ve used this dye with great results. It takes a bit of prep work...don’t skimp on the cleaning...but the results are worth the effort.
I’ve just recently seen instructions on painting (yes painting) leather furniture. It takes multiple thin layers of paint, sanding, and waxing. But imagine all the color choices you would have! Good luck!
Is the sofa genuine leather, or bonded leather? Bonded leather is a combination of vinyl and leather parts. It will not take leather dye evenly.
