How to winterize and insulate windows and doors?
I have never insulated my windows or doors and I can feel a draft come through. I have looked at all the products and just don't know how to use them. I have used the plastic to cover the windows of course.

Lined draperies are a great help for windows and sliding doors.
I would cover the windows with the 3M film, if you still feel the cool, I would go with the thermal insulated drapes. I think the drapes would help in the summer to keep the warmth out of the house, too. The 3M window film is a bit thicker and easier to use than the Duck film. It doesn't rip as easy, or melt as easy as the Duck does.
Use the plastic window kits for the windows. Replace or add door weather stripping on the outside of the door frame. Also install a door sweep on the outside of the door bottom.

They make weather stripping for around Windows , they are easy to use. They come in a roll, just measure and cut them peel off the paper covering the sticky side , and stick it around the window. They also come in white or brown,to match the window frame. These can usually be left on , for all seasons. The directions should be on the package.
for the door you can add a door sweep to the bottom , if there's a gap. You can also buy a sleeve the slides under the door , they have a wind blocking bumper on either side.
