How do I keep my yard from washing away?
The gophers have created so many tunnels, when the rains start in a few weeks I’ll have underground rivulets! All my dirt will wash away!
thanks,
rachael

what kind of gophers? are they voles? where do you live?
Rachael Hi, The best thing you can do is to fill the holes with large stones. If you live near a town dump, you can pick up stone for free. When contractors finish a job and have left over material they drop it at the dump. You can get dirt too. Aloha!

Where I live, there is no "town dump" - (most major metropolitan cities have a waste management program), and if you head over to the refuse site you must pay to go in. It is not a pretty place, teaming with rats, mice, snakes and roaches. You don't want anything that comes from that place. It's called a dump for a reason.
Construction waste has separate sites, most they try to recycle.
Stick to tried and true remedies and use your best judgment when visiting a landfill site.
