My backyard is an embarrassment?
See the dog in the backyard?
See how UGLY the backyard is? It never was like this until certain family members never cleaned up after the dog relieved herself.
I won't go back there anymore because of obvious reasons.
I'm embarrassed of what use to green, lush grass that I could walk barefoot on and sit on with my granddaughter. Now? I don't dare go off the pathway.
I feel hopeless but I don't want to give up reclaiming my backyard.
PLEASE HELP ME with suggestions/ideas for how to repair patchy grass? Thank you!

Do you still have the dog? A solution to limit further damage might be to purchase a yard kennel, or put her on a run when outdoors to limit her potty area. As far as the grass goes, re-seeding with a good fast-growing grass seed can revive the areas already damaged. Here's a guide I found online, also:

Dedicate a section of yard for the dog only as you have s large yard. I would run a fence the length of the back yard front to back on right side about 10-15 t wide. Make this dog only space. The rest of the yard is thrn yours!
That is an awesome back yard! The possibilities are endless. Start with a designated potty spot for the dog and slowly train her. Then dethatch and reseed the lawn. Not knowing what zone you are in you may have to wait until next spring, but it can be done! Here are some sites to get you started!

I have 6+ dogs and 6 cats in a much smaller yard and I taught them all where they are to do their business. Leaves the rest for us to roll around and play!
Designated area for the dog to relieve herself is the answer I'm going with. Thank you, for the advice/suggestions, which I am definitely applying towards the dog's boundaries.
Thank you, again!
