Hardy mums are beautiful and bloom every year.
I agree, mums. However, I take mine in for the winter and plant them in the ground in the Spring. That way they can establish a good root system.
Mums. Hardy perennial mums are blooming now on CT. Mine were labeled "sheffield pink". Also there is a perennial plant in my neighborhood (and my yard) blooming now called montauk daisy. With a lot of sunlight it will grow taller ( maybe about 2' and with less light it flops over more and gets a bit "leggy" BUT BLOOMING great. Highly recommended. Another favorite of mine is black eyed susan, but they seemed to bloom earlier than I remember this year and are now gone. Another classic is Autum Joy sedum... a clumpy well behaved plant where the broccoli looking tops bloom in the fall.
