Bird Sanctuary

I am quite a "bird nerd" and always enjoy watching them outside our front window. I have acquired a number of feeders and got the idea to enclose them into this little area and make it attractive in the process. We put plastic down to kill the existing grass and prevent weeds or seeds from growing. Then added river rock and it turned out beautifully!
While this solves the squirrel and chippie seed munchers on the ground issue, they will still climb the poles and raid the feeders. Plan to add baffles to this area for that. Also will add a squirrel bungee feeder somewhere away from this to draw them off. A few more colorful whirling things, a fake rock to cover the well cap and I think we've got a wrap!! Love, love how this turned out.
And oh yes, keep those feeders full!

Great idea! The seeds make such a mess in the yard, this keeps it looking tidy
