I have never heard that mulched leaves were bad for the lawn. You could always use an attachment for your riding lawn mower and suck them up and compost them.
I always recycled leaves by making a bin of leaves & turning the leaves and they break down into rich black top soil. I had a corner in the yard that I had a place to put solid plastic fence rails and after each grass cutting I turned the leaves over with grass clippings and over time it produced beautiful black top soil. I did not need to the top soil immediately so I did not use chemicals to break down the leaves but more of a place to contain leaves & grass clippings.
Hi Peggy - Do you compost? Here's a great 101-style article on getting started with composting and everything you ever need to know. Also how we DIY'ed building our compost bin. My Stepson built it for a Boy Scout merit badge. Hope this all helps and happy fall! Hugs, Holly

Hi Peggy,

One way is to make trench and bury them about twelve inches under. Or make a compost by layering green leaves over brown (dry) leaves ---good for fertilizer or sell them to make money to gardener or landscapers in your area.. Ask your City where there are classes on composting if you need info. OPr... trim trees sso that there are fewer branches to make leaves for next year.
