Wow that looks like my cupboard. Are you like me, that tends to buy certain supplements and then tire of them? My only solution was to every three or six month (or whenever I can't put another bottle on the shelf) was to pull out all of the bottles and do an expiry clean out. Keep the ones you can still use (they maybe helpful in the future again). Those that have expire, place in a grocery bag and take it to your local drug store's pharmacy department. If you're a regular, they will dispose of it for you for free, as they too need to dispose of expired tablets. It gets taken to a recycler and stays out of the local dump.
Get clear plastic tubs that fit onto the shelves and label them A-C, D-G, etc. Put the bottles in alphabetically.
HI Shelbyll,
The first thing I'd do is separate them into groups of how often I take them. Some I might take daily, some weekly, some when I'm getting a cold, etc. I'd put each group in boxes with lids and mark what's in the box on the outside - as well as expiration dates. By doing that and choosing your boxes carefully, you should be able to stack them on your shelves or on the floor underneath. They will also be more organized so it should be easier to find the one you want. I hope this helps you.
From the picture it looks like you might be able to squeeze in another shelf if you could raise the top one and lower the bottom one just a little.
First, I am glad to see you are only using good quality vitamins! your cabinet looks like mine. I used boxes from canned cat food and covered them with contact paper and put my vitamins in those. It definitely looked better. I organized them by vitamin since I buy them in bulk once a year from Puritan Pride when they have their buy one get 2 free sale. You can label them as well. I'm just not that organized!
My husband has I'd guess 60 bottles of vitamins. What I did was use my imagination. We have an antique spice rack-type wall shelf. I hung it in the bedroom on the wall near his side of the bed. Now all of his bottles are within reach.. saving me much needed space.
The container Store sells tiered shelves which will maximize the space. I think Bed Bath and Beyond does as well as Walmart.
