Final color of one piece
How do I stain different colored wood to match?
I have an oldish solid wood or what I thought was solid wood table. I’m trying to strip and restain it. However there was a lot of some kind of filler on it. I sanded that off and found a greenish looking wood underneath. So now what? How do I go about staining this so it all matches?
Different colored woods
Filler that was over the whole table
What is this?

It is very difficult to match colors on different types of wood. I build a lot of furniture and cabinets, and if can’t match colors I accentuate the difference making sure there is a lot of contrast between the two woods. On most pieces I use contrasting woos and that makes it ‘pop’. BTW...green colored wood is almost always poplar. It is almost exclusively used for a substrate under veneers and wood that is to be painted.
Thank you. That makes since.
