it's a lot of work. soak it thoroughly with water and vinegar--if you don't like vinegar smell, use fabric softener. you will need a metal scraper with a large straight edge. you may have to do it in several steps.
I just painted mine. two light coats of paint. looks great.
There is this little scoring tool that puts tons of little cuts in the wallpaper, to help the water or steam get behind the face of the wallpaper. Then you can try lightly spraying water over a small section at a time. Let it soak in 15 or 20 minutes. With a thin putty knife start scraping. If it still doesn't want to come off... you can try to use a steamer. I've had better luck with a steamer. It's hot and messy, but does seem to penetrate into the paper and loosen the glue better.

You can make your own solution to dissolve the adhesive. Warm water & vinegar (or fabric softener) 50/50 in a spray bottle. Score the paper, being careful not to damage the walls underneath. Saturate through the perforations and let sit for several minutes. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove. Once all is removed, clean with soapy water.
Have yu tried a Steamer?
The only way we have found to remove it was with a steamer but it took forever. You may need to apply steam several times over several days in the same spot to get the paper to release.
The easiest way to remove wallpaper quickly is to use a steamer. A steamer will loosen the wallpaper adhesive, making it easy to peel the wallpaper off in large pieces.
A fabric steamer will help to remove the wallpaper.
With difficulty unless you have a Steamer!
