Soapy Homemade Play Dough
Hi. I got this recipe from the Martha Stewart show a few years ago...
Materials
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon cooking oil
1 cup water
Food coloring as needed
1. In a heavy saucepan, mix the ingredients.
2. Cook on a medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes or until mixture pulls away from sides of pan. It will have the consistency of mashed potatoes.
3. Remove from heat; let cool for 1 minute and then knead. It should have a soft, smooth texture.
4. Play dough can be stored in airtight containers and will keep for several weeks.
Note
Due to its high salt content, the clay should not be eaten by children.
