How can I freshen up my landline phone hanging in the wall?

Am still using a landline but would like to update its look on the wall. Any ideas?

How about building an open wooden box around it adding a rustic look to the already dated fixture. We also still have a land line. Dying breed. Lol
Actually I did think of that but I have no idea how to go about it!
Glam it up, paint, contact paper, replace with one of those cool vintage looking phones, build a box or shelf around it, put a wire basket with a cut out and add decor items
Depending on how much space you have, you can create a message centre using a chalkboard or cork board (or combination) and mount the phone onto it so it appears it was designed that way. You can add a bin for mail, a spot to display a picture or pictures etc. It could be traditional, country or contemporary depending on you frame.
