Here's how to make wood form https://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/christmas/diy-lighted-christmas-stars-23927258. Make it with 1x2's for heavier duty star, and i would use heavy duty cable ties to secure lights.Securing 2 of the tips/points only of lit frame to tree, roof, fencing etc. something lower to ground, then run 5 strands of lights from one of the star points to another higher up area of yard?inside of building barn?rec room?great room hanging the 5 strands spread into fan shape leave some drape to strands(don't string them too tight). The bigger the spread between lights for tail & the longer the strands the more dramatic the effect. Placing the star lower than tail. You could use just all one color lights or a mixture of yellow, red, warm white strands on tail for fiery look; bright white or bright white & blue mixed for star itself.Or what ever combination you like. I put one from our huge Palm tree to roof line. happy holidays!
