How can I insulate a wall AC unit?
The air conditioner is on the wall instead of the window. A lot of cold air comes in. How do I keep the draft out?

First check to see if the vent is closed. Then cover the a/c from the outside. Plastic a/c covers are made for this, although the covers are not insulated. You can insulate it with a fleece blanket under the waterproof cover.
Take a look in the hardware store in the insulation section. There's numerous product for winterizing an window AC area from foam strips that can be fitted in between the cracks in your window to a removable plastic film that can be taped over the unit inside your house and heat-shrinked in place.
Use Spray Foam in the area where the draft comes in.
Home improvement stores sell covers for the outside to insulate them. You can also put some plastic or bubble wrap on the inside to help cut off the transfer of air. Hope this helps Miriam
