How do I glue a large mirror back onto base?
Want to re attach (glue) 36 inch circular mirror back onto circular frameless base. Loctite mirror glue recommended...but should I smooth or spread glue over entire base with spatula....rather than just dabbing it here and there as directed...looks like originally the adhesive was smeared all over....

Make sure you do use mirror adhesive, friend.
According to the Liquid Nails company:
"Apply adhesive to mirror back in 2 to 3 inch diameter globs, at least 1/2" thick, per every sq.ft. of mirror. Press into place within 10 minutes. The adhesive should be approximately 1/16" to 1/8" in thickness after mirror installation."
An alternate glue could be E6000 or Crafter's Pick. Both are used for jewelry making and general crafting.
You need to dab so mirror floats on backer board. Since it is wood it expands and contracts and mirror glass doesn't. Can cause it to crack if too secure.
Just a few globs of adhesive in random spots. It will spread when the mirror is placed down.
Hi there,
If it looks as if it was smeared all over before, then I would use sufficient glue and do it again. Good luck.
