I knew a guy who used shade cloth for his orchids and bromeliads. He just sewed it together and made one long piece.
My garden rows are 20 ft. long. I just lay shade cloth over the row, holding it down with rocks on the sides. I started by making a row tunnels with PVC pipe, but decided that just laying shade cloth on the row was easier.
PVC pipes for a frame, poke 'ends' into the ground, can slip over ReBar for more stability; and zip ties to attach the shade cloth ... easy to move, light weight, but don't make it too big as it will be come a 'sail' in high winds ...
