They have to be pot bound ! Water once a week
1- 12 – 14 hours of darkness per day. It needs to get this reduction in light approximately 8 weeks before you want it to bloom.
2- To be kept drier. Wait until the top 1/4 to 1/2 of the soil dries out before watering again. This could be anywhere from every 3-6 weeks depending on the temps, the mix it’s in & the size & type of pot it’s planted in.
3- A temperature kept between 50 & 65 degrees F.
A month before you want it to bloom throughly (and I mean throughly) water your cactus, then do not water it again until you see buds. Water normally now and enjoy.
Have you tried adding a little "Bloom Booster" Fertilizer to the water you use on your plant? It may take 6 weeks to 2 months for it to "kick in" but eventually you'll see little buds on the ends of the branches. Simply watering the plant may not be enough to produce blooms.
