You don't. It is used as a cleaning or degreasing agent before painting or staining. What type of finish are you looking to do on your piece?
Alcohol can act as a stripper for shellac finishes like used on some knotty pine.
Hi Judy,
I'm Linda and I'm wondering if you are asking about alcohol inks? If that's the case, with the application you're seeking, the inks could be used on tiles then applied to the dresser, although I haven't seen them used exactly that way. They have been used on tile inlays on a table. If this is what you're considering, I'd suggest doing a lot of research before you start. Wishing you the best.
Hi Judy! If you want to remove the finish, it will be easier to use a product like Citristrip. If you do use alcohol, please have good ventilation and wear gloves.
Thank you all for your input. Very interesting! However, I have decided that I am going to give it to my daughter as she has always had an eye on it! Happy holidays ladies🎄👵🏻
