How can I decorate with beautiful old leather-bound business ledgers?
I need some ideas about what ways I could use beautiful old leather-bound business ledgers from the 1890s era. We don’t want them destroyed in any fashion. I wanted to make a coffee table but hubby was worried they would get damaged. They are from the business his family acquired 50 years ago. Anyone have creative ideas? Thanks!

Well a coffee table would still work. You could make it basically a large shallow box that the books could sit inside and then cover it with a piece of glass.
I have some books on a shelf with a bit of decor. They are laid on their side and slightly askew as if several people had just put them down quickly. One grouping has 2 candles that look real but are flameless.
You can scatter small collections in multiple rooms as well.
They are beautiful and it would be a shame to hide them away.
UsedBooks1.com should help you find whatever book you are seeking or a link to it.

Hi there,
Could use them on a plinth / kickboard for coffee table - end tables - Bedside tables or make use of them as Base for Table Lamps or Shelves on a baseboard or Just for decoration!
I love all the ideas above. I hope this will help, too. https://www.google.com/search?q=decorating+with+old+books&rlz=1C1BLWB_enUS700US700&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwieofTMz5DfAhW6IDQIHZ9YAVEQ_AUIDigB&biw=1012&bih=447
Check out ideas on Pinterest. MOST ideas are pretty 'destructive' though. Here are a couple you might be interested in.The second idea: the 'cut' books could be cheap thrift store finds.
Encase them under glass in a two glass level coffee table, but keep them out of the sun, to avoid damage.
These would look interesting placed on or near an older desk, where it would appear as if they were still being used.
This might be adapted for what you had in mind.
Thanks, everyone. After Christmas, I’ll get going on probably a custom box table with a glass top!
