Try getting some laminate flooring at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. Easy, and should hold up well. They have ceramic tile also.
Yes, Habitat Restores are great places to shop for great prices. Have even seen very small numbers of freebies, i.e., one package of laminate flooring (only about 2ftx1ft).
Self-adhesive tiles, square or planks, are easy to work with, inexpensive, and look much nicer these than they used to.
Laminate sucks in a bathroom. Does not play well with water. Once it gets wet or if high humidity, it swells and there is no repair, must be replaced. So if you have children, not a good option.
Tile if you have the budget.
Or vinyl products. Sheet vinyl. Vinyl planks. Press and stick vinyl tiles. My vote is for sheet vinyl. No seams, takes a beating, easy to maintain. Lot of bang for the buck. Before you say "yuck!" Go check them out, not anything like what was used in the 50's, 60's or 70's.
Hi Lisa, we did peel and stick floor tile that lasted for 10 years it was in the front entry, kitchen and bathroom, just be sure to seal it with the seam sealer they provide and bonus is that it is easy to cut.
