is it dark, no natural light? Do you have a coat closet? Or are you lucky and have plenty of light, but you just want some pizzas? What function do you want from it?
Paint or wall paper? Try something bold, small space can easily be painted over if you hate the color, but dress it up before deciding, add the furniture... Wallpaper is so fun these days, some can be like giant stickers, and can be removed easily!
Small space, no closet put some attractive hooks up, for GUESTS to hang they’re coats up. Family take their coats to bedroom closets. Put a bedroom dresser in with drawers to put gloves, scarves,...just don’t let it get too overflowing. Or collect junk. Also can put mail items in drawers, stamps, envelopes, address stickers... add a large mirror, a table lamp, or two. A bowl for potpourri or an incense holder, or scented candle. Add a large rug that’s larger than a mat, but it doesn’t have to fill the whole area, especially if you have nice floors. Or an interesting runner. Have a basket to put shoes in, set next to dresser.
To make small areas appear bigger use light/white paint colors, a mirror to reflect the light and minimal decorations. Less is more in a small space. Just try and keep it light and airy and uncluttered. By doing so you will achieve the look you are going for.
