How do I condense/organize into my new smaller lifestyle?
I moved and I don’t really like my new place, it’s smaller masquerading as bigger, but I have less closet space, cabinets are less and more expensive , I’m so overwhelmed and disappointed but I must make it work. Please help, thank you sooo much

I'm sorry you're having a difficult time, but you are going to be ok!! First thing I do when working with clients is have them go through little by little so as to not be completely overwhelmed. When talking bout clothes, go through and get rid of anything you do not like, doesn't fit well or is ruined and you haven't fixed. Only keep the things you absolutely love. I also recommend creating a capsule wardrobe where everything coordinates so you can make multiple different outfits. As for the other items in your home. Ask yourself the last time you used something. If it's been longer than a year, it's time for it to go. You may be able to sell some of your stuff you no longer want or need to buy items to make your place feel more like home for you. If there is anything else you have specific questions about, I'd love to help.
Hello Rhonda,
Downsizing several times Ive learned to maximize all available storage options. Im also cursed with the lack of storage closets too.
In the kitchen maximize cupboard storage utilizing various storage bins baskets and elevating wire racks in all cabinets above and below countertops. You might consider using the backside of the cabinet door too. Purge the things you dont need or store other things that you don’t use often in another area of the house....like under the bed, garage or basement closet. Put you beds on risers and use low profile totes and spacebags under the beds. Switch out summer and winter wardrobes. Some people use storage Ottomans or trunks as coffetables to hide extra items as well. Lastly the beds with drawers below the mattress are options too.
Organization can be an ongoing process to build on dont get overwhelmed!

We moved from a 2 story6 rooms large home to a ranch style 1 story 3 bedroom home...it was hard but I started donating things and keeping only 4 dishes, 4cups,if we had company we used paper plates! Same with clothing, shoes, ..linens killed me cause I love them and had so so many...i gave them to a place for women starting over and saw a woman crying with joy...they need it more then me. 2 years later and I am so happy and clutter free! I can say NO to things I don't need.. I go out more and I thing it's cause I'm not tied down with possessions! You WILL be ok.
Thank you sooo much!!! You are the best!!! Coming from a divorce I’m constantly feeling less than and this gives me strength and YES more hope!!! May Christ Jesus pleas protect and prosper you and your family abundantly!!!!
thank you again ❤️☺️
I wish you well as you go through this stressful time. It will get better.
When I lived in a smaller home, I got over-the-door racks for my postage-stamp-sized pantry, which practically doubled the storage. I also got some for closet doors. There are vacuum-seal bags for linens that collapse them, so you can fit more in an area.
Our attic space over our garage was only accessible through a trap door, so we had a door cut at the top of the stairs, which opened it up.
HI Rhonda - This is one of my favorite articles on cleaning, organizing and decluttering. It really breaks down the steps of the process, and even includes an interview with TV show Hoarders star Matt Paxton. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
