How can I turn my kitchen window into a chalkboard command center?
Hello beautiful people!!! I have a window (see photo) behind my kitchen sink that open's into a four season room. I had an idea of turning it into a chalkboard command center and i could also do a magnetic spice holder for my spices. Can you paint glass with chalk paint??? It is a large area that I feel is waisted space that could be utilized.

Sounds like a fabulous idea. Yes you can chalk paint glass.
Connie..... FYI, chalk paint is not the same as chalkboard paint.
You can buy peel and stick chalkboard material - that might be worth a try! :)
Paint with chalk paint, then paint over that with chalkboard paint.
Clean well with rubbing alcohol. I would prime it first with kills. Then you can paint it with chalkboard paint. You can run a magnetic strip across part of it and magnetize your spices and incorporate the whole thing. Craft stores have a chalkboard additive that you can use and then you can paint it any color you want of chalkboard paint. There is also magnetic paint.
Why not just hang a chalk board over the window. That way when you want to let the light inside you can take the chalk board down. If after a period of time you prefer the chalk board then make it permanent. But for safety reason you should put a piece of wood over the window. You don't want the glass to break.
Chalkboard paint is now available in various colors. Follow the instructions on the can to insure you have success. Also, remember to use a piece of chalk on the surface (use the side of chalk to "season" the new charlkboard. Otherwise if you write on it without seasoning you'll always be able to see what you wrote first.
