My question as I watched these grandparents was always, "Why are you sweeping your yards, and why is there no grass around your house?" We have grass around ours.
Vinegar and warm water are the best things to get rid of urine whether it is in a carpet or anywhere else.
Vinegar is what I use. Concrete needs to be hosed down at least daily. If the sheetrock is badly damaged, cut it out and replace.
Can you paint over it and seal it in with a heavy duty primer like Killz?
