Cat's are smart, and fast they do what they want when they want to I can only say one thing and it is not fun to do. You have to be a little smarter than them you have to do it when they are in action. Get a spray bottle of water. and after a couple times of spraying the cat he will get it. I promise even aloud noise They don't like that stuff LOL
Try a motion-detector sprinkler, when the cats walk near, the noise and the water scares them.
